Угтвар үг нь нэр үг ба төлөөний нэр үгийг бусад үгтэй холбож өгөхөд хэрэглэгддэг ба зүг чиг, цаг хугацаа, байрлал зэргийг илтгэдэг.

· Чиглэл заасан: Put your bags under the desk.: Under the desk гэсэн үг нь тороо хаана тавихыг зааж өгч байна.

· Цаг заасан: During Christmas break I will visit with my family. During Christmas break, гэсэн хэллэг зочлох гэсэн үйлдэл хэзээ болохыг зааж байна.
