ТУХАЙЛАХ ЯЛГАЦ ГИШVVН (THE)
(The definite article)

1. the : гийгүүлэгчээр эхэлсэн үгийн өмнө : the book, the boy, the lady, the university, the union

2. the : эгшгээр эхэлсэн нэрийн өмнө : the American, the animal; мєн үл дуудагдах h-ээр эхэлсэн үгийн өмнө: hour, honour, honest; эхний үе нь өргөлтгүй үгийн h-ийн ємнє: the horizon тус тус хэрэглэгдэнэ.

I . Тухайлах ялгац гишүүн хэрэглэх тохиолдлууд

· Зүг чиг заасан: towards the North, in the North,гэвч: from north to south, from east to west гэх мэт тохиолдолд хэрэглэхгүй.

· Газар орон болон арлын нэр олон тоонд : the East-Indies, theNetherlands, the Hebrides.

· Нэр үгийг тодотгож байгаа дэс тооны ємнє : the first week- эхний долоо хоног, the second floor - гуравдугаар давхар.

Сануулга: all, both, half, double, quite, twice - ын ард нь "the" байна. all the world, double the sum, all themoney.

· Mount- , cape- , lake- , harbour- , bay- тай оноосон нэр байвал : Mount Everest, Cape Trafalgar, Lake Geneva, New York Harbour, Hudson Bay,
гэвч : the Cape of Good Hope гэх үед хэрэглэгддэг.

· Гудамж, талбай, гүүр, барилга оноосон нэртэй бол : Oxford street, Trafalgar square, Windsor castle, London bridge.

· Тоолж үл болох ерєнхий нэрийн ємнє : life, death, love, Earth, Heaven, Hell ; He was weary of life.
гэвч : the life of the whole nation гэх үед ялгац гишүүн авна.

· Нэр үгийн ємнє тооны нэр, тєлєєний үг орвол : two boys, his friend, this room, some apples.

· Church, school, college, prison, bisiness, chapel, hospital, market, sea, table, town, work, bedгэх мэт үгс нь ерєнхий утгаар хэрэглэгдвэл : church is over, school begins, he was sent to prison, go to bed.
гэвч : тодорхой утгатайбол ялгац гишүүн хэрэглэгдэнэ : The school is near the church. - Сургууль сүмийн хажууд байдаг.

· Материалын нэр : coal, iron , wood, gold : coal is important for export,
гэвч : thecoal of Wales (Уэльсийн нүүрс) гэх мэтээр хэрэглэх нь бас бий.

· Нэр олон тоонд байвал : cats, mice, dogs, birds : swallows are pretty birds.
гэвч : theswallows of this summer - энэ зуны хараацайнууд гэхчилэн ялгац гишүүн хэрэглэх тохиолдлууд байна.

· Улирал, сар, єдєр : summer, March, Sunday : on Monday, in Winter, in April, at Christmas
гэвч : the last Sunday in August. гэх үед хэрэглэнэ.

· Шинжлэх ухааны тусгай салбарын нэрийн ємнє :
My brother studies algebra. - Ах маань алгебр судалдаг.

Сануулга: "of"- ын тусламжтайгаар холбогдсон буюу түүнтэй адил бүх тохиолдолд ялгац гишүүн авна.
